2006 Kia Spectra EX Trouble?

I own a 2006 Kia Spectra EX and it has always ran great but now I have noticed a problem with my blinkers[turn signals]. When I engage the one on the right, it operates just as it always have, a slow steady clicking/flash to alert other drivers. Now the left one, that's another story. It has a fast rhythm and although the bulbs have been checked and changed the problem still persists and drives me a bit nuts. Outside of the rapid blink on the left side, everything else is fine. Anyone know why its doing this and how to make it stop? Is it a grounding problem, is there a code that needs clearing, any ideas or suggestions?

P.S. Not sure if this is relevant or not but the same side light bulb blew for my license plate and, although we replaced it, it is blown out again...not immediately but shortly thereafter.2006 Kia Spectra EX Trouble?Last time this happen to me, all I did was change the bulb and the problem went away - that particular %26quot;sympton%26quot; you're experiencing is usually indicitive of a bulb thats about to burn out. Apparently you already tried that solution but with no luck. I'd personally would probably get a hold of a mechanic and inquire with them - on a side note, when replacing light bulbs on cars, be sure not to touch the bulb, the oil on our skin can do some damage to the bulb and in turn, decrease its life span.

To those who think saab sucks please tell me your stories and tell me why your saab sucks?

My saab has driven me towards insanity. if my car had feelings and emotions than i would punch the **** out of it and kick it to death. my story about my saab starts off lkke this. it was the middle of 1993 when my father decided to buy a new car. we went to a honda dealership and we were ignored just cos we look poor in our baggy jumpers and holed jeans. so we went to the saab dealership and the service there was great and we then bought ourselves a nice new 1994 900s. wow how i loved this car. roomy interior and all and much better than ou bummy old ford. up until a few years later we had chronicles upon chronicles of breakdowns, bad engine oil, colant was buggered, engine slightly damaged by my irresponsible older bro, and the damn battery dies. it is now in the year 2009, car is about 15 years old, car has been left in the garage for a long while even though its been out on the road a few times. i am now 19, i need a car. so i decided to buy this saab from my father and get my licence. we then called in someone to jumpstart the car, the alarm went off, woke up the neighbourhood, made my dog crazy. the car after beng jumpstarted runs like an angel until we went to a petrol staion and put some fuel in only to breakdown at the petrol station. we had a fight with the workers because apparently our car was holding up the fuel tanker even though it never came. we ended up buying a new battery which put a strain on my account. then the indicator bulb blew itself out. so i lost even more money just to get it serviced. finally after the car being serviced i finally got to have a go with this car for the first time. i stalled and stalled again until i got used to driving manual. so now i decided to go for my driving test. i failed the first time because i didnt indicate leaving the roundabout even though i was going straight in the roundabout. i went again then i failed at the very end because i went a tiny bit over the speed limit. so i decided to be optimistic for my third attempt. on my way to the driving test i said nothing will stop me now and then all of a ******* sudden the car wouldnt get into gear. we kpt trying and trying but it was no use unless we grinded gears. we had the hazard lights on everyone nearby just stared at us, kids were looking at my car and myslef as if we are an exhibition because the car is indicating in a different way since the bloody car broke down. we called in someone to tow our car and he said th clutch cable is stretched. so we decided to get a new clutch cable. thanks to taxes and evil stingy mechanics it costed me a fortune to get a new cable fitted into the car. then it only gets worse. the truth behind the car not getting into gear is because the ******* clutch itself is worn out. the pressure plate has collapsed and therefore the clutch wont move and change gears. i have no money and its now gonna cost me a bloody fortune. i didnt get my licence for the test because you have to supply your own car for the test and i wanted to do my test in a manual vehicle but everyone i know has an automatic so i didnt get my licence and my car is useless. SAAB sucks, its ruined my life, my life sucks because i cannot go anywhere without my car and licence and its because saab sucks. To those who think saab sucks please tell me your stories and tell me why your saab sucks? You may not get to hear this story as some one keeps erasing me from SAAB but here goes.

Sweet Laurane wanted a new (to her ) car and found this 84 -900 Saab. $1500. USD- any way after the test ride from hell 1) the pass window went 1/2 way up and stopped 2) the inst went nuts and ran all over the place 3) the wipers stopped 1/2 way up the glass. ANYWAY; She offered $750 against my advise. And a week later we owned it for $500.

%26quot;You can fix it Honey!!%26quot;

Ya right. Well 3 years of repairs from the turbo, to the air filter and fuel pump and the window winder then the transmission.

I got a new girl friend. To those who think saab sucks please tell me your stories and tell me why your saab sucks? So, years after you bought the car you started having a few issues with breakdowns and bad oil/coolant, then your brother damaged the engine and the battery died.

Then you let it sit for a few years (probably without draining the fuel or disconnecting the battery) and take it out after a jump-start thinking that the battery will still hold a charge.

Then you learn to drive a manual transmission on the car and after stalling it numerous times until you get the hang of it, you think it's the car's fault you wore out your clutch cable and plate?

It sounds to me like that poor Saab endured a lifetime of hell from a family that has no clue how to care for or operate a motor vehicle. If you want to blame someone, blame your father. It sounds like he has no clue how to properly service a motor vehicle and has passed on his ignorance to you.

You probably have pets that ran away.To those who think saab sucks please tell me your stories and tell me why your saab sucks? So the company sucks because you are poor? Well that's not their problem. I would love a 9-3 Viggen.

My tail lights dont work when i turn my head lights on?

i have a 92 nissan 300zx 2+2. my license plate lights have been out ever since i bought the car so i decided 2 change them 2day. i put them in but they still didnt work and there was battery acid all over the socket. i had switched my lights on 1 click (2 means the head lights would come on) and forgot 2 turn them off before messing with the socket.

i started trying 2 clean some of the battery acid out of the socket where the lights go with a flathead screwdriver. so as im doing this i can see that my tail lights are on. i was cleaning out around the positive and negative charges and my lights started to flicker. then the second time i think the positive and negative charges connected/touched completely through the screwdriver and my tail lights went out, my deck reset, and my headlights wouldnt come on.

now when i try and turn my head lights on the tail lights dont come on unless i step on brake. instead of my headlights coming on when i switch them to on my high beams are on instead. i checked all my fuses and they are ok. my fuse links are all fine 2. the bulbs are all fine. i think i really messed up the wiring by touching positive and negative.

how can i fix this??? it is very important that my tail lights work because this car is my daily driver and i work graveyard shift. My tail lights dont work when i turn my head lights on?Well sounds like you probably fried the switch, i'd try replacing that if it doesn't solve your problem, be prepared to start tracing wires. Start from the affected area and trace it all the way back. You could have melted a wire which is causing it to short out or you could, have killed a relay as well. Did you just check the fuses under the dash, because there is probably another fuse box under the hood as well where you can check some of the relays. My tail lights dont work when i turn my head lights on?You smoked the fuse just change it and quit sticking screwdrivers in the light sockets. My tail lights dont work when i turn my head lights on?get new taillightsMy tail lights dont work when i turn my head lights on?Your tail lights and number plate lights are on a different circuit to the brake lights.

You may have a poor connection, or broken wire.

Poor earth return is a common problem. My tail lights dont work when i turn my head lights on?If all the advice above doesn't help your only other option is getting a specialist auto electrician to run diagnostics and track down where you shorted out the circuit. My tail lights dont work when i turn my head lights on?check the fuse, then scrape the contact in the sockets and put some grease in the sockets. My tail lights dont work when i turn my head lights on?My guess is you don't have grounding of the bulbs, because of the corrosion. I would say this because you state the %26quot;tail lights come on when you touch the brake%26quot;. I'd bet the brake lights don't come on!

This can happen because of the tail light filaments %26quot;finding ground%26quot; via the stop light filaments when the brake light switch is worked.

What you need to do is to test between the bulb contacts and a GOOD ground point, with tails switched on, using a voltmeter or a test lamp. If the volts are there, ground is the problem. Clean everything VERY well!

Would i be pulled over for this?

alright i was gonna take my dads truck to the store tonight with my friend...but the lights that shine on the license plate are burnt out...so would a cop pull me over for it or would he not bother

ive already been out once in that truck at night with my friend and there were SIX cops out that night!! and none pulled me over...but if they might pull me over how do i take the light bulb out of that light so i can change it?? the light bulb is like SUPER TINY but i was planning on using the other trucks license plate light since they are the exact sameWould i be pulled over for this?YOU-----------NEVER--------KNOW!

Let me explain something. With the economy in the shape it is in, and cities and municipalities not having enough money to meet payroll, and are having to lay police and fireman off, what might simply be ignored under most normal circumstances will not be ignored now.

Suppose a police officer was told, %26quot; you bring in $ 1000 a week in tickets and fines, or we will have to lay you off%26quot; So, you're driving without a license plate bulb that works, and he seeds you as a sure $ 50.00 fine, what is going to happen????

You can stop at Pep Boys and buy a bulb for a dollar, or be prepared to be stopped and written up. Your call.

I live in PA, and I have never seen so many smokies just parked off the highway behind a billboard or a tree.I was stopped twice last week for random seat belt checks. At one, they nailed 4 dui's.Would i be pulled over for this? This would be a fix it ticket. That is even if you were cited for the equipment violation. This is not a high profile type of vehicle code violation that officers are generally looking for.

If something of a suspicious nature draws their attention to you and or the occupants of your vehicle it is a good reason to justify making a traffic stop for investigation purposes. Then if something of an illegal nature is found during the course of making the stop, the unlit license plate light will be in the report along with the more serious charges associated with the incident.Would i be pulled over for this?I have no idea if you WILL get pulled over for it.

But...

You CAN get pulled over for it.Would i be pulled over for this?oh yeah, happened to me, cops love burnt out lights, gives them a chance to check out what's going on in the car.Would i be pulled over for this?if they wanted to they could, always remember that and ask yourself if you can afford to pulled over!

Isn't it kind of easy to fix those little lights? Like 60 cents and a screwdriver??Would i be pulled over for this?yeah they might pull you over.

to change the bulb, Push in slightly and twist to the left

pull it outWould i be pulled over for this? You can be. I bought my car about 5 years ago with those lights burned out..and I was just pulled over for it about a month ago. I never realized it till the cop told me..5 years later!! They let me off with a warning though.

As for your blinker, it's possible that something is hooked up wrong. Your best bet is to take it to the dealer if your warranty is still in effect. If not, try a local auto repair shop.

  • Audi A6 2001 Fog Lights, rear and front, replacing?

OK First of all I have a question I wanted to change the light bulb for the front fog lights on the bumper for my Audi A6, BUT what kind of bulb is it it looks huge when i took it off? Also The rear fog lights are under a carbon fiber plate near the license plate how do I remove it theirs no screws or any thing at all?Audi A6 2001 Fog Lights, rear and front, replacing?OK, this is tricky. You cannot get to the rear fog light (singular) from the outside. You must open the rear deck lid and remove the soft liner. The 2001 A6 is pecular in that in the US only the left lens is activated and in EU the right is activated. In model years 2002 and later they smartened up and both lenses are activated.

To remove the liner panel there are two sets of two screw pins. The first are obvious to find. The second set is behind the road hazard triangle. Take out this accessory to expose the second set of fasteners. After removing these the panel should snap out exposing the wiring harness and lamp assembly. Twist to remove from the housing and you now have access to replacing the lamp.Audi A6 2001 Fog Lights, rear and front, replacing?bring the big bulb to the parts store to match

rear fog lights??? never seen them

Please HELP, police pulling me over for stupid light issue!!!!?

I drive a 97 Nissan Sentra and I got my car repaired a couple months ago and what happened is that someone had replaced my right flasher light (orange light) before I got it repaired, it blinked normally but now its really fast.

How do I make it stop blinking faster and at a normal pace, I have a hard time changing lanes cause people cannot see the lights flashing.

I asked smoeone and they said that maybe one of my lights on the right side is not working or bulb gone. I also have a problem with my license plate light, everytime I hit on the light, it works but many times it doesnt, do I need to change the bulb?

Please help me with these questions, any opinion are welcome. The police keeps pulling me over for this and its very annoying, Please helpPlease HELP, police pulling me over for stupid light issue!!!!?In almost 99% of cars, if a bulb is out, the turn signals won't light at all, since there are in series. To me, it sounds like you have an incorrect bulb or bulbs installed. The incorrect bulbs will draw too much or not enough current causing the flasher to operate slower of faster. If it works for one side, the flasher is OK.

The license plate bulb socket could be corroded. Take the bulb out and check for corrosion, it isn't rocket science. Please HELP, police pulling me over for stupid light issue!!!!?In some cars, the blinker appears to blink really fast (to you, inside the car) to tell you that the light is out. Is that what the cops are telling you? Check it out when you are stopped. Please HELP, police pulling me over for stupid light issue!!!!?I know that with many car makes, a turn signal blinking twice as fast does in fact mean there is a bulb out. Check this by turning the car on and turning on the turn signal and getting out and check it.

If you replace the bulb and it it still blinking abnormally, I would recommend taking it back to the shop where it was fixed. They may not be able to do anything, but maybe they can!

As far as the ticket, you should call and see if it is what they a call a %26quot;fix-it%26quot; ticket. Basically, as long as you get it fixed within a certain amount of time, they will not charge you for the ticket. :)

    Good luck!
