How do you change the license plate light bulb on a 2002 chevy tracker?

I can see where it goes but can't get the old one out to replace it. I need to get it done before I get a ticket. DO NOT UNSCREW it. You have to remove the inner door panel to access the plate bracket and disconnect the electrical. It is a hassle. I found 3 pages in the GM service guide on how to replace it but did not want to clog this page up with it.
